Where are you on your journey? And what is your next step?
In the biblical tale of the Garden of Eden, God is searching for Adam and Eve. God calls out, “Ayekha?” – “Where are you?” The sages ask: Why does God ask about Adam and Eve’s whereabouts? God is not asking about their physical location; God is asking, as it were, “Where are you in your life? And what is the next step that you must take?”
We at the Lev Shalem Institute (LSI) of the Woodstock Jewish Congregation offer you an opportunity to take the next step on your spiritual journey. Our programs inspire full-hearted living through the wisdom, joy, and gifts of Judaism. Everyone is invited to participate, regardless of your background, your involvement in Judaism, any other religious path, or no religious involvement at all. Whether you are knowledgeable about Judaism or a complete novice, there is a program for you at LSI.
We offer weekend workshops, weekly class series, stand-alone programs and lectures, and five-day intensives. Most of our programs take place at the Woodstock Jewish Congregation – our light-filled, solar-paneled building located on 34 acres of woods, fields, and ponds near the arts colony of Woodstock, New York. We provide meals during program hours. Lodging is available at numerous bed and breakfasts, cottages, motels, and hotels in our beautiful region of the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson Valley. We have included a comprehensive guide to assist you in finding lodging.
